Error "Unable to Modify the Listen Port for the Current Admin Connection" Encountered When Editing a Listen Port in Policy Manager

Issue:

When editing a Listen Port via Policy Manager, the following error may be encountered upon saving the changes to the Listen Port:

Unable to modify the listen port for the current admin connection

Cause:

This error occurs because the port is in use for the current administrative connection via Policy Manager. Changes cannot be saved to a Listen Port when it is currently open for the active Policy Manager session. For example: if connecting on port 8443 via Policy Manager, then changes cannot be made to Listen Port 8443.

Resolution:

To resolve the issue, perform the following steps:

  1. Disconnect from the current Policy Manager session.
  2. Connect to the Gateway again with Policy Manager but this time using a different port number than the port needing to be edited.
    • Example: If changes couldn't be made to 8443, then try making the changes while connecting over port 9443.
    • Gateway host connection should be in the format of <GatewayIP/Hostname>:<Port#>
