The return values are passed back from TCP/IP. These are TCP/IP errors.
The Txpi 215 error indicates the general category of TCP/IP error. The string that follows indicates the meaning of the Txpi 215: Socket send error.
The return codes may be found in dataset CEE.SCEEH.H(ERRNO). The high level qualifier may vary at your site. Or IBM manual SC31-8791-04, Chapter 13, http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/f1a1d240.pdf.
These return values mean:
1127 - timeout
1124 - socket is not connected
Practically, other users have indicated that when they got these errors messages, they were resolved by one of the following:
- Applying IBM maintenance to TCPIP.
- Problem resolved after IPL.
- Firewall denying the connection; permit the connection.
- Remote server down - restart.
- Wrong IP address specified - correct IP address.
