Description:

Following error message received when trying to write a portfolio into clarity using XOG "cannot insert NULL into ("NIKU"."PMA_PRTFLIO_INCL_CTNT_TYPES"."OBJECT_TYPE_CODE")"

Solution:

Wrong investment type was used in the XOG file.

The following investment types can be used:

For projects - 'SRM_PROJECTS'
Applications = 'INV_APPLICATION'
Assets = 'INV_ASSET'
Products = 'INV_PRODUCT'
Service = 'INV_SERVICE'
Other Work= 'INV_OTHER'

Here is an example XOG that was successful:

<NikuDataBus xmlns:xsi=" http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="../xsd/nikuxog_contentPack.xsd">
<Header action="write" externalSource="NIKU" objectType="portfolio"
version="8.1.3.4545"/>
<portfolios>
<portfolio name="Portfolio XOG Investment Test" description="This Portfolio
used for testing portfolio xog investment" manager="admin"
id="Portfolio_XOG_Investment_Test" budgetCost="1000000"
budgetBenefit="1200000" active="1" start="2006-01-01T00:00:00"
finish="2006-12-31T23:59:59"
currencyISOcode="EUR" pageLayoutCode="pma.pageFrame">
<contents>
<investment investmentType="SRM_PROJECTS" investmentID="PRJ000050" />
</contents>
</portfolio>
</portfolios>
</NikuDataBus>

This does not apply to Clarity PPM 13.2 and above as the portfolio feature was completely redesigned.
