Issue:

Users logged into Spectrum Web Client may want to add/remove alarm table columns - but when selecting or de-selecting a column name and clicking save, there is an error:

"Error in saving alarm table column preferences: Preferences may be empty."

This is a known anomaly and there is a workaround (see below).

Environment:
Spectrum 10.2 Web ClientOS Independant
Cause:

When logging into the Web Client for the first time, there is no initial association between the User's permission to edit Alarm Column attributes and the Web Client.

Resolution:

First an association must be made through the OneClick Java Console alarm table columns, and then edits to the Web Client alarm table columns can be made.

1. Log into the OneClick Java Console

2. Select Alarms tab

3. Right-click any alarm table column

4. Select any column name and either check or uncheck and click OK

5. This creates the association between the username and the permissions to edit columns in Web Client

6. Go back to the Web Client and check/uncheck any Alarm Table Column name

7. Click Save or Apply

8. The User can now add/remove alarm table columns

Additional Information:

The ability to add/remove alarm table columns in the Alarm Table Column Preferences settings tab is a new feature added to Spectrum 10.2. New features such as this will continue to be improved in future releases of Spectrum.

NOTE: Starting in Spectrum 10.02.02.00, users will NOT have to perform these steps. New Web Client Users will be able to save their preferences without having to log into a OneClick console and save them there first.
