When starting CAF, it fails to connect to the session messaging server although SMServer itself starts and CAM is running.
"Retrying connection" is issued multiple times when starting CAF.
The TRC_CF_CFSMSMD_0.log contains similar errors for every CAF start:
108804|0001a8d0|CFSMSMD|cbbkstor|cbbkstor|000000|ERROR| CFile::open:C:\Program Files\CA\SC\CBB\certstor.dat can't be used.
It's version 0 which is too old to handle.
This may point to a corrupt certificate "dat" file.
To repair, run following command:
Then try to start caf again. If the same errors still show up, more intrusive steps will be required.
If this is the case, you essentially have 2 choices (other than completely uninstalling and reinstalling the ITCM software):
1. Delete the *.dat files from .\CA\SC\CBB as well as the entire certdb subdirectory, then import the certificates again from scratch as listed in TEC567509.
2. Delete the *.dat files from .\CA\SC\CBB as well as the entire certdb subdirectory, then run a repair of the installation to regenerate the missing certificates.
