Issue:

 Enterprise Manager is unable to connect to the Postgres server.

 

 The following message appears in the IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.log:

 '[WARN] [CheckDatabase.Thread1] [Manager.com.timestock.tess.util.DbUtils] database inaccessible; will check later'

 

 Postgres logs for the corresponding  time frame reveal messages like the following, complaining that the Time Zone is not correct.

 'FATAL: invalid value for parameter "TimeZone": <SOME INCORRECT TIME ZONE>' 

 

Environment:
All APM versions on all supported platforms.
Cause:

 Enterprise Manager(EM) JVM is picking up an incorrect Time Zone from the machine where EM is running.

Resolution:

 Users need to set a correct time zone for the Enterprise Manager JVM. To set a correct default time zone, use '-Duser.timezone=<REPLACE WITH TIME ZONE>' for the JVM parameter  to 'lax.nl.java.option.additional' in '<EM HOME>\Introscope_Enterprise_Manager.lax' file.
