Email notification for reports submitted immediately and scheduled

Description:

When the end-user executes a report 'immediately' no email notifications are sent. Why?

Email notifications are only sent to specified users when a report is scheduled, but no email notification is sent when a report is submitted immediately.

Solution:

The user selects a report from the Available Reports list under Reports & Jobs in the CA PPM application.

The user enters the required parameters for the selected report on the Report Properties page.

If the user chooses Immediately under the 'When' section of the Report Properties page, the report will open on the user's desktop immediately, and no email notification will be sent to any specified user or group. Also, a copy of the immediate report will not be saved in the Report Library.

If the user chooses Scheduled under the 'When' section of the Report Properties page, the report will run at the scheduled date and time, and an email notification will be sent to the user(s) or group(s) specified in the Notify section of the Report Properties page. And, a copy of the scheduled report will be saved in the Report Library.

*Please note that appropriate Notifications for Reports and Jobs should be selected for any resource or group under Account Settings in order for the notifications to function correctly.
