The EEM Reporting Utility service must be installed on the same machine that hosts an EEM 12.0 or 12.51 server. During the ERU installation, it will verify the directory location and the version of EEM that is installed on the machine. The installation accomplishes this by running the following commands...

For the location of EEM on Unix/Linux:

Command: cat $IGW_LOC/eIAMServer.location

Sample output: /opt/CA/SharedComponents/EmbeddedEntitlementsManager

For the location of EEM on Windows:

Command: reg query "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\Embedded Entitlements Manager" /v LocationPath

Sample output:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\Embedded Entitlements Manager

    LocationPath    REG_SZ    C:\Program Files\CA\SC\EmbeddedEntitlementsManager

For the version of EEM on Unix/Linux:

Command: cat $IGW_LOC/iPoz.conf

Sample output:

<iSponsor>

    <Name>iPoz</Name>

    <ImageName>/opt/CA/SharedComponents/EmbeddedEntitlementsManager/lib/iPoz</ImageName>

    <LibPath>/opt/CA/SharedComponents/EmbeddedEntitlementsManager/lib</LibPath>

    <DisplayName>Eiam Server Sponsor</DisplayName>

    <DispatchEP>iDispatch</DispatchEP>

    <ISType>DSP</ISType>

    <Version>12.51.1.8</Version>

    <PreLoad>true</PreLoad>

    <Gated>false</Gated>

    <ClsPath></ClsPath>

    <DebugLevel>ISP_FILE</DebugLevel>

    <HostId>whimi01linux.ca.com</HostId>

    <LogLevel>WARNING</LogLevel>

</iSponsor>

For the version of EEM on Windows:

Command: reg query "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\Embedded Entitlements Manager" /v Version

Sample output:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ComputerAssociates\Embedded Entitlements Manager

    Version    REG_SZ    12.51.2.11

If either of these steps fail, the installation will fail immediately. To resolve this error, run the commands above manually to determine why they are failing within the installation. Correct any error that comes back from the commands and then rerun the ERU installation.
