Durations appear with Question Marks in MSP

Issue:

When the Microsoft Project (MSP) Schedule opens through PPM, all the durations show up with a Question Mark (?) at the end.

Cause:

This is due to having the MSP setting 'New scheduled tasks have estimated durations' checked.

Resolution/Workaround:

It's recommended to have this field unchecked, unless you are using estimated durations. To uncheck this field:

  1. In MSP, go to File->Options->Schedule
  2. Under 'Scheduling options for this project', uncheck 'New scheduled tasks have estimated durations'
  3. Click 'OK'
