Question:
Created jcl to run a dbhot backup and also a dbspill.
Currently set up to go to tape. Client would like the gdg's to go to disk.
What would the dcb info be to dump them to disk?
Environment:
z/os - CA Datacom/AD 15.0
Answer:
There is no need to specify DCB information for the RXX file or backup files when they are allocated on Disk.

DBUTLTY will internally handle the DCB for you from the CXX/Directory. You will find out the DCB after the data set as been created.

DBUTLTY will even override any DCB parameters you may specify.

See example in 15.0.CAAXSAMP(AD15BK02)

"...Do not use the DCB= option, however, because CA Datacom®/DB forces the appropriate values to be used, and those appropriate values override any DCB= values set by users."
