Long Delay Using Right-Click Context Menu in DSM Explorer
Impacted versions: IT Client Automation R14 SP1
When you right-click a group of selected computers in DSM Explorer it is normal for a context menu to appear almost instantaneously as in the below example:
When the bug is experienced however, as you select more computers, the time it takes for the menu to appear will greatly increase and eventually no context menu will appear. Instead the console will hang for a long time as if waiting for the menu and then the screen will ‘blink’ and control will return to the explored with no menu displayed. Waits over 30 minutes have been reported in some cases.
This issue seems to primarily occur when CASD (Collaborative Agent Software Distribution) is turned on which is a new feature in the R14 product line.
The issue will not occur if even one system is missing the SD Agent plugin as this is directly related to the ‘Software Jobs’ portion of the context menu shown above which will not be included in the context menu unless all selected agents have SD plugin showing installed or ‘Operational’.

Any Windows installation with DSM Explorer installed on R14 SP1.
This is a code bug which requires a patch to correct.
