When running DSEXCULP and executing the DSCULP21 report against a large CA Dispatch archive database, the U0999 abend in the IDMS CULE module occurs when the number of lines in the output reaches or exceeds ten million lines. The abend is due to a limitation related to Culprit, that exists in IDMS release 10.2, which is what CA Dispatch uses.
Because of the above limitation when executing the DSCULP21 report against large archive databases, CA now provides a replacement utility and program which allows clients to produce the "Archive Volser Report".
The new utility is available via Dispatch 11.7 apar RO93020 which can be downloaded from our Support.ca.com website and applied via SMP/E or CSM.
Apar RO93020 provides a new program (CADSARVL), a module replacement for the VCBTDATE program, and new execution JCL (DSEXARVL) which will be available in the CA Dispatch installed 'hlq...CADSJCL' library.
For clients who have experienced the U0999 abend when trying to produce the "Archive Volser Report", instead of running DSEXCULP with MEMBER=DSCULP21, clients should now run the new DSEXARVL job to produce the report.
