Introduction:
The snmpcollector probe makes bulk snmpget requests by default.  Need to know if the interface_traffic probe also makes bulk snmpget requests by default.
Question:
Does the interface_traffic make bulk snmpget calls to retrieve QoS metrics for the monitored interfaces?
Environment:
UIM Server:  any version
interface_traffic:  any version
Answer:
By default, the interface_traffic probe does not make bulk snmpget requests.

There is a global setting in the interface_traffic probe that will allow you to configure the probe to use bulk snmpget requests, but this is a key that is applied to all configured profiles and cannot be set at the device profile level.

The single_request key would be configured in the <setup> section of the interface_traffic.cfg file using the probe's Raw Configure GUI. To enable bulk get requests, you would select the setup folder from the left-hand pane of the Raw Configure GUI, then Add/Modify the key value in the right-hand pane. To enable bulk snmpget requests, set the key value as follows:

single_request = yes

The default behavior is to not use bulk get requests (key value is not configured or the single_request key value is set to no).

There are no keys available which would allow you to configure the maximum number of OIDs to be contained in the bulk snmpget requests when retrieving QoS data for each configured interface.

The max_oids key (also found in the <setup> section) controls the probe's SNMPwalk limit and sets this to 3000 items by default. This is used when any of the probe functions that requires an SNMPwalk of the device (like interface discovery and Get Routing Tables). It is not used when the probe makes the bulk requests for the QoS data configured for monitoring.
