In the catalina.out log file of the API Developer Portal, you may see the following recurring error:
06/28 15:20:57.008 ERROR (http-37080-12:) - [general] -- DOCUMENT_NOT_FOUND:repository/META/PUBLISHED/resources/sites/api-portal/analytics/google.xml
All versions of the API Developer Portal will exhibit this error message
This error is benign, and there are no side effects to be concerned about. The API Developer Portal is looking for the google.xml file for analytics purposes. However, since Google Analytics is not enabled out of the box the file hasn't been created yet, which is why the error is presented.
To remove this error message, perform the following steps:
1. Log into the API Portal dashboard as the admin user.
2. Navigate to "Site Settings" > "Google Analytics"
3. Check the box to "Enable Analytics Script".
4a. Optionally, if you want to actually use Google Analytics, paste your script in the text box here and click "Save".
4b. If you're not planning on using Google Analytics, leave the text box blank and click save (ensuring the checkbox is still checked).
5. At this point, the google.xml file will be created and the error will go away.
If you'd like, after performing those steps, you can even uncheck the box and click save again. The file won't be removed, so the error will still be gone from the logs, but analytics will be disabled.
