Question:

One of our clients is running IDMS V19.0 and soon will be upgrading to CICS V5.1.

Do the CICS/IDMS interface modules need to be re-assembled and linked? If so, which ones?

Answer:

Your 19.0 IDMSINTC, IDMSINTL or UCFCICS interface modules do NOT need to be recreated when upgrading CICS to TS 5.1.
Since 18.0 these interfaces have very little executable code in them and are basically a table of parameter values and a "stub" module that transfers control to the actual processing modules.

We did recommend reassembling these interface modules when upgrading CICS, prior to 18.0 but at that time there was CICS-specific code in the interface modules.
