Introduction:

We are going to be starting a second CA Dispatch region on an LPAR that is already running a CA Dispatch started task.

We have observed the comment in the CADSOPTN library member DSSYSXA where the CV number is specified stating "CVNUM HAS TO BE UNIQUE FOR ALL IDMS CVS ON YOUR CPU".

Question:

How can we identify which CV number is already being used by the first CA Dispatch STC running on this same LPAR?

Answer:

Here are two ways to find the value of the CV number being used by a CA Dispatch region. In the following examples, the CV number being used is 7.

- In the JESMSGLG of the CA Dispatch started task, look for the DC201001 message identifier which will look similar to the following:

DC201001 V1 T1 IDMS CENTRAL VERSION 7 STARTED

- If the CA Dispatch STC is active, logon to the CA Dispatch region and at the "Enter Next Task Code" prompt type:

DCMT D CV   {enter}

The resulting display will look similar to the following:

      D CV

IDMS CENTRAL VERSION 7 NO EXTERNAL RU

V1  Enter Next Task Code:

We would also recommend a review of the following knowledge documents which contain additional information regarding the Central Version number:
