Introduction:

Customer, using for the first time the new Data Dictionary SWAP transaction coming with release 15.0, has that question:

Can you clarify the syntax of the transaction since currently the documentation is missing the details?

Instruction:

The syntax of the SWAP transaction is as follow:

-UPD KEY,new-occr-name(prod)

1000 SWAP, prev-occr-name

Processing of the 1000 SWAP transaction causes certain attribute values in the Datadictionary and in the CXX specified by the KEY occurrence named in the 1000 SWAP transaction (the replaced KEY, "prev-occr-nam") to be replaced by those of the KEY occurrence specified in the header transaction (the replacing KEY, "new-occr-name") .

Example:

-UPD KEY,Table_occurrence_name.newkeyname(PROD)

1000 SWAP,oldkeyname

Environment:

z/os, CA Datacom Data Dictionary 15.0 and above
