Customized link edit step fails with IEW2326E THE FOLLOWING INVALID RECORD HAS BEEN SEEN INLUDE OBJLIB(module-name).

After completing the IDMS 18.5 installation, one of the optional tasks is customization of various modules. During the customization of a Performance Monitor #PMOPT link edit step; the job failed with the following messages:

IEW2326E 1221 THE FOLLOWING INVALID RECORD HAS BEEN SEEN: SETOPT PARM(REUS(REFR)) 
IEW2322I 1220 3 ENTRY APMOPT 
IEW2326E 1221 THE FOLLOWING INVALID RECORD HAS BEEN SEEN: ENTRY APMOPT 
IEW2322I 1220 4 NAME APMOPT(R) 
IEW2326E 1221 THE FOLLOWING INVALID RECORD HAS BEEN SEEN: NAME APMOPT(R) 
IEW2230S 0414 MODULE HAS NO TEXT.
IEW2677S 5130 A VALID ENTRY POINT COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. 

This error occurs when the statements in the source module begin in column one instead of column two.

The corrective action is to go into Edit Mode in TSO or Roscoe, in the IDMS 185.CUSTOM.LNKLIB(APMOPT) or whatever the customerized module name; and verify that there is one space before the INCLUDE, SETOPT, ENTRY and NAME statements and that they all begin in Column 2:
