Customers may receive a “CAS9125E – Invalid Data; Parm keyword data too long” message when initializing CA XCOM 12.0 through CAIRIM.
CA XCOM r12.0 can fail to initialize successfully due to the required pointers included in the CAIRIM control statements. CAIRIM processing can issue a message that the data included in the parm is too long.
Recent changes introduced with XCOM 12.0 require that the CAIRIM parm to initialize XCOM include a pointer to a valid XCOM loadlib and XCOMCNTL library for the XCOM configuration defaults. Due to this requirement, some customers have reported an XCOM initialization failure while receiving CAIRIM error message:
CAS9125E - Invalid Data; Parm keyword data too long.
In order to correct this, XCOM r12.0 customers need to install CA Common Services for z/OS r14.1 S1401 or apply CAIRIM PTFs RO52581 and its correcting PTF RO53900 to their CCS r14.1 installation.
The XCOM r12.0 Installation Guide includes the following note found within the Software Requirements Section:
“Before you install CA XCOM Data Transport for z/OS, install CA Common Services f z/OS r14.1. Minimally, we recommend that you install CA Common Services for z/OS r14.1 plus any hypers or high priority PTFs as listed in RI46930.”
Both RO52581 and RO53900 are listed in RI46930.
