CSM product deployment fails with error message: MSMD5350W CCI INIT FAILED. RC =0008 FDBKRC =0008 FDBKVRC1 =0021

Issue:

When trying to deploy a product with CSM (Chorus Software Manager) it may fail with the following error messages in the CCISPNSV started task:

MSMD5300I SPAWN PARM LENGTH = 00000100   BYTES.
ICH408I USER(user name) GROUP(group name) NAME(customer name)
LOGON/JOB INITIATION - INVALID PASSWORD
IRR013I  VERIFICATION FAILED. INVALID PASSWORD GIVEN.
MSMD5350W CCI INIT FAILED.  RC =0008 FDBKRC =0008 FDBKVRC1 =0021
MSMD5380W CCI ERROR MESSAGE: SECURITY / ACCESS DENIED

Cause:

If you are running a deployment and the mainframe is running IBM RACF security, you need to provide the password in the Remote Credentials in UPPERCASE.

IBM RACF can be implemented without the case sensitive password feature.

Resolution:

To change the password, you need to go into the CA Mainframe Software Manager GUI at the Settings tab, User Settings, Remote Credentials. (Don't forget the press the apply button after the change).
