CSE with Oracle Database on Win 10

Document ID : KB000047649

DESCRIPTION:

CA Gen 8.5 CSE Servers on Windows 10 are not supported for Oracle databases due to Oracle installation limitations.  Gen 8.5 CSE Servers running on an Oracle database require Oracle 11g 32bit client to access either a 32 or 64bit database.  However, Oracle 11g database is not supported on Windows 10.   The following steps illustrate one method that could be employed to allow the CA Gen 8.5 CSE servers to be used on Windows 10 and Oracle 12c.  This work-around does not imply or create a support of or certification of CA Gen 8.5 CSE on any Windows platform using Oracle 12c.

RESOLUTION:

1.    Install Oracle 12c database on Windows 10.

2.    Modify the following files to refer to the Oracle 12c database installation directory:

crdbcse.sql

crdbdir.sql

initdbcse.ora

initdbdir.ora

crdbcse.bat

crdbdir.bat

3.    Modify the alter statements in the crdbcse.sql file:

From:

alter user ency default tablespace iefsency_tab;

alter user ency temporary tablespace iefsency_temp;

To:

alter user ency quota unlimited on iefsency_tab;

alter user ency quota unlimited on iefsency_idx;

4.    Modify the alter statements in the crdbdir.sql file:

From:

alter user ency default tablespace iefsdir_tab;

alter user ency temporary tablespace iefsdir_temp;

To:

alter user ency quota unlimited on iefsdir_tab;

alter user ency quota unlimited on iefsdir_idx;

5.    Run the crdbcse.bat and crdbdir.bat to create the DBCSE and DBDIR databases.

6.    Install Oracle 11g Client

7.  Complete the configuration of the CSE by running the cse_config
