Introduction:

How to customize Post Install for clean up old Object?

Background:

Provide an automated way to cleanup CA DB2 Tools objects from prior releases that are no longer used.

Instructions:

Currently there is no Installation Verification Program (IVP) available for CA Database Management Solutions for DB2 r18 and r19

as also mentioned in Document ID:  TEC1995618 at http://www.ca.com/us/support/ca-support-online/product-content/knowledgebase-articles/tec1995618.aspx

But you should know that this is possible with the first DB2 task. This is a DDL to Subsystem RC/Compare job and RC/Compare has the feature you want. You should add a "EXPOPT  X" line to the PARMFILE DD.

EXPOPT—The explode option. Enter one of the following values.

A—Explode all dependent objects. Unpaired dependent objects are not dropped.

X—Perform an exclude explode. Unpaired dependent objects are dropped.

see in the RC/Compare Documentation at

https://docops.ca.com/ca-rc-migrator-for-db2-for-z-os-and-ca-rc-compare/18-0/en

That means, objects, which are not in the current release DDL will be automatically dropped. The only missing feature is, that the option is missing in the compare options panel.

But note: NOT use it on the first post install, because with that, you cannot go back to the older release
