Clarity: Upgrade - CSA Overview screen, Installation Status shows as Incomplete - due to no reports installed from CSA

Description:

After successful upgrade, the CSA Overview page 'Installation Status' field shows as:

Incomplete: click here for Installation Overview

All installation tasks are completed and were successful.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Perform an upgrade to Clarity 12.1 or 13.3
  2. Ensure all installation tasks are complete and successful (ie pre-upgrade, database, xdm, post-upgrade steps)
  3. Login to the System Application (CSA)

Expected Result: Installation Status on Overview page says 'Complete'
Actual Result: Installation Status on Overview page says 'Incomplete: click here for Installation Overview.'

Solution:

WORKAROUND:

The error message incorrectly assumes that reports should be installed from CSA, even though there is no ability to accomplish Reports install from the CSA.
Reports are installed by importing BIAR file via the Business Objects Import Wizard.

For CA Clarity PPM v12, Execute the following command from the application server using the command line:

> nikuadmin reports install

For CA Clarity PPM v13, Execute the following command from the application server using the command line:

> admin reports install

STATUS/RESOLUTION:
CLRT-61033 : Tested, verified and closed as 'cannot reproduce' (CNR) in Clarity 13.2 and beyond.
