After adding some resources to a project plan in Microsoft Project and trying to save it back up to Clarity, received this error message.
OT_PROJECT_ID_LIST/UNIQUE_NAME exceeds maximum length of 32
The Error message can be resolved by checking the following:
In order to save a project from MSP to Clarity, the resources staffed to the project must already exist in the Clarity database.
Once that has been confirmed, please do the following:
- Open the project in MSP
- Navigate to the Resource Sheet
- Add the Initials Column to the view
- With the Clarity Resource List open in another window, verify the Initials field matches the Resource ID in Clarity for the resource or role in question - this field has to be unique
- If you are still encountering this issue, create a new MS Plan by opening the plan from Clarity rather than opening a local, saved 'mpp' file on your desktop. This will ensure that the MSP plan has the same number of resources and the correct data
