Question:

In CA PPM 7.5.3 I am able to select Transaction Classes for my line items in a benefit plan, this feature has been replaced by a free-text field named 'Detail' in later versions. How can I still put Transaction Classes on benefit plans?

Answer:

You can create custom fields for attributes you want to see in benefit plan detail view.

Here is an example using Transaction Class:

  1. Clarity Admin Tools->Clarity Studio->Benefit Plan Detail object->Attributes.

  2. Click New to create a new 'MyTransactionClass', select Lookup as Data Type.

  3. When the page refreshes click on the browse icon for 'Lookup', select the lookup with ID 'FIN_TRANSCLASSES' from the popup window, click Submit.

  4. Navigate to Views->Benefit Plan Detail Properties->Layout: Create->'General' section-> Properties.

  5. Move 'MyTransactionClass' from the Available column to a Selected column, click Submit, then Back.

  6. Navigate to Views->Benefit Plan Detail Properties->Layout: Edit->expand Benefit Plan Detail page to get to the General section->Properties.

  7. Move 'MyTransactionClass' from the Available column to a Selected column, click Submit, then Back.

You may need to publish the views, or log out and back in.

Now you can add a transaction class to your benefit plan line item:

  1. Select an existing benefit plan, click Add.

  2. Enter the required field for 'Detail', you now have a new field labeled 'MyTransactionClass' with a browse icon, you can select a Transaction Class, then click Submit.

To put 'MyTransactionClass' on the benefit plan Detail page, configure the following:

  1. Clarity Admin Tools->Clarity Studio->Benefit Plan Detail object.

  2. Navigate to Views->Benefit Plan Detail List->Layout.

  3. Move 'MyTransactionClass' from the Available column to a Selected column, move it to a desired position, click Submit.

You may need to publish the views, or log out and back in. Now you will see a new column for 'MyTransactionClass' on the Detail pages.
