 Question:

   How do I set CA APM Command Center to Debug mode?

 Answer:

  CA APM Command Center has two components:

    1. CA APM Command Center Configuration Server

    2. CA APM Command Center Controller Agent

  Basically, you need to set both in Debug mode for analysis.

  1. Setting CA APM Command Center Configuration Server to Debug:

  Change the default settings for the log file and the logging level.

  Follow these steps:

    1. Open the APMCommandCenterServer/config/apmccsrv.properties file.

    2. Go to the Logging section. This section defines the location of the log file and the logging level for loggers.

    3. Make the required changes below.

    4. Change the log level to DEBUG for the Configuration Server, do not change the root log level but add a new property:

        logging.level.com.ca.apm=DEBUG

        This setting ensures that debug messages are logged only for the Configuration Server and not for other components (web server, database, messaging).

    5. Log files are stored in the logs subdirectory

  Setting CA APM Command Center Controller Agent in Debug:

  Follow these steps:

  1. Open the APMCommandCenterController/config/apmccctrl.properties file.

      Change the log level to DEBUG :

      logging.level.com.ca.apm=DEBUG

  2. Log files are stored in the logs subdirectory

      Note: Since it is a configuration file, you need to restart the CA APM Command Center for the changes to get enabled.
