Changing Read-Only Parameters for an AutoSys Server Definition in Workload Control Center Configuration

Summary: 

This procedure details how to change the Event Server host name, which is one of the read-only parameters for an existing AutoSys server definition in Workload Control Center (WCC) Configuration. You can use the same procedure to modify any of the read-only parameters in the server definition. This will leave credential users, credential groups, Job Status Views, and Job Flows intact and functional following the changes.

 

Instructions: 

In this procedure, you will do two Save As cycles to return the server to its original name and provide the change to the ES Host Name.

  1. Open the UWCC Configuration component, and select the Setup tab.
    The CCI Links page appears.

  2. Click Servers.
    The Servers page appears.

  3. Click the AutoSys server for which the ES name is to be changed.
    The properties page appears for the selected server.

  4. Click Save As.
    The Save As page appears for the selected server.

  5. Do the Following.

    • Change the Server Name to Temporary.

    • Change the Instance Name to TMP.

    • Change the Event Server Host Name to Temporary.

    • Change the Event Server Database Name to Temporary.

    • Click Save.


    The revised server definition is saved.

  6. Click Done.
    You are returned to the Servers page.

  7. Select the check box to the left of the original AutoSys server, and then click Delete.
    A confirmation message appears.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Click the Temporary server link to open the new server definition.
    The properties page appears for the selected server.

  10. Click Save As.
    The Save As page appears for the selected server.

  11. Do the following:

    • Change the Server Name to the original value.

    • Change the Instance Name to the original value.

    • Change the Event Server Host Name to the new value.

    • Change the Event Server Database Name to the original value.

    • Click Save.


    The revised server definition is saved.

  12. Click Done.
    You are returned to the Servers page.

  13. Select the check box to the left of the Temporary server, and then click Delete.
    A confirmation message appears.

  14. Click OK.

  15. Deploy your changes.

  16. Stop and start the services automatically selected for you on the Services page.
    The server is returned to its original state with credential users and Job Status Views intact.
