ISSUE:

We are unable to modify or delete the job with special characters and when we try to do the same it will throw the error as below:

"CAUAJM_E_10279 Invalid Job Name: <job name> DELETE not performed."

[Note:- Autosys allows to insert invalid job (job name with special characters) names during insertion in some old versions prior to 11.3 SP3.]

    For example we can use "test_hours??_job??" and it will accept the insertion of job. But when we are trying to delete the job from autosys it will throw error as below.

"CAUAJM_E_10279 Invalid Job Name: test_hours??_job?? DELETE not performed."

ENVIRONMENT:

This issue has been identified in prior version of Workload Automation autosys 11.3 SP3. New versions of autosys will not allow inserting jobs with special characters.

WORK AROUND

Kindly follow the below steps to modify the invalid job name to a valid one in autosys database.

STEP 1. Login to the autosys database as aedbadmin

STEP 2. Check the existence of the job in ujo_job table by using the below command.

             SQL> select job_name from ujo_job where job_name=' test_hours??_job??';

             This command will list the job name from database as shown below

             JOB_NAME
             ----------------------------------------------------------------
             test_hours??_job??

STEP 3. Modify the job name using below command to any valid job name.

              SQL> update ujo_job set job_name='test_hours_valid_name' where job_name='test_hours??_job??';

              This command will give an output as the row updated as shown below:

              1 row updated.

STEP 4. Commit the change in database using the below command.

              SQL> commit;

              and you will get message as Commit complete.

              By these steps we have changed the invalid job name to a valid one "test_hours_valid_name".Once the job name is modified you can modify/delete the job                 in normal methods.

Note: Make sure the dependencies (if any) of the job has been taken care even if you are modifying or deleting.
