Changing a robot name or IP (or any changes to the binary) causes the robot's probes to not work and to turn red.
Unified Infrastructure Management (UIM), all versions
Due to the changes in a robot name or IP (or other changes that alter the robot binary code), the robot's probes' magic keys are no longer valid. The magic_key is essentially a checksum which is based on a hash of the robot name, ip, and a checksum of the binary for the probe. If any one of those things change, the checksum calculated will no longer match the recorded magic_key. A security re-validate forces a re-write of the magic key to the new checksum.
Security re-validate the probe as follows >>
- In Infrastructure Manager (IM) -
1. Select a non-working probe, and rt-click for a menu.
2. Click "Security" > "Validate" > "Yes All".
- By command-line on the robot server where the probe resides -
See KB Article TEC000001500, "Is it possible to re-validate a probe via the PU Command?"
