Introduction:

There are scenarios where we need to change the host name/IP Address of the Tie breaker machine. This document addresses the points  you needs to consider.

Environment:
Workload Automation AE 11.3.6/11.3.5
Instructions:

The first thing to verify is if there are any Jobs running on the tie-breaker server.

Then you may consider the following

  • In AutoSys_secure, check to find any references to the old hostname especially superusers if native security is used.
  • In Job definitions, check to find any references to the old hostname.
    autorep -J ALL -q
  • In machine defintions check to find any references to the old hostname.
    autorep -M ALL -q
  • In the agent side you have to check the agentparm.txt for any references to the old hostname

The Tie-breaker information is stored in the two tables in the event server. The scheduler information in ujo_ha_process and the application server information in the ujo_ma_process. These are reset each time we stop and start the Autosys services in the primary.

1. Stop the Workload Automation services in Primary, Shadow and Tie-Breaker servers

2. Change the hostname and Ipaddress as required. Verify the DNS lookup and hosts files are updated.

3. Start the Workload Automation services in Primary, Shadow and Tie-Breaker servers

Additional Information:

AutoSys server Hostname and IP address is going to be modified. Wants to know how to change AutoSys configuration accordingly.
