Issue:
We would like to change the log files output location to use company standards for where logs should be placed - and/or due to lack of disk space on /opt directory.

Currently is in the default /opt/SecureSpan/Gateway/node/default/var/logs folder.

How can we do this?

Resolution:
For the log directory that is set as :

/opt/SecureSpan/Gateway/node/default/var/logs

That path is hardcoded.

Is there a specific reason you want to change the path of the logs.

There is kb article on increasing the space for /opt since it was something that can be needed.

https://comm.support.ca.com/kb/increasing-the-disk-space-available-to-a-virtual-appliance-using-logical-volume-management-lvm-in-api-gateway-version-8x-and-later/kb000042624

The appliance default is to store the logs in that directory, and that is the recommended configuration for the appliance.

From unix perspective, other options that are used for placing files in different diretory would be.

a) I could see would be to use a symbolic link for the the /opt/SecureSpan/Gateway/node/default/var/logs directory to directory on another mounted drive.
stop the gateway, add the link, then start the gateway again.

     service ssg stop

     cd /opt/SecureSpan/Gateway/node/default/var/
     mv logs logs-old
     ln -s /newdisk/logs logs

     service ssg start

b) Or mount directly another vollume on /opt/SecureSpan/Gateway/node/default/var/logs

But it is probably best to speak to you local sys-admin about the options.
