Issue:

SAP job ran through “SAP Adapter” failed with the following warning messages:

%CASAP_W_331 Unicenter AutoSys JM interface -> send heartbeat failed

%CASAP_W_331 Unicenter AutoSys JM interface -> send heartbeat failed

%CASAP_W_331 Unicenter AutoSys JM interface -> send heartbeat failed

%CASAP_W_331 Unicenter AutoSys JM interface -> send heartbeat failed

%CASAP_W_331 Unicenter AutoSys JM interface -> send heartbeat failed

Environment:
Unicenter JM SAP Adapter Release 3.2 WA Agent 11.3 SP4 on WindowsWA AE 11.3.6 SP2 on Linux
Cause:

The “Heartbeat Pace” parameter is used by “SAP Adapter” to send regular “Heartbeat” messages to the Agent.

This was originally designed for the Legacy 4.5 and 11.0 release Agents.

But the 11.3 SPx release Agent does Not support the “Heartbeat” messages and in some cases you may get the following messages:

%CASAP_W_331 Unicenter AutoSys JM interface -> send heartbeat failed

%CASAP_W_331 Unicenter AutoSys JM interface -> send heartbeat failed

%CASAP_W_331 Unicenter AutoSys JM interface -> send heartbeat failed

%CASAP_W_331 Unicenter AutoSys JM interface -> send heartbeat failed

Resolution:

The recommended solution is to set the heartbeat pace to 0 in the sap configuration assistant.

Example:

$ cd $SAPDIR/bin < ========

By default, $SAPDIR/bin is set to /opt/CA/UnicenterJMAforSAP/sap/bin

$ ./sapconfg < ========
