Description:

A CAS9612I message may be issued during CAIENF execution, with the initialization of CCI services. This message can occur if there is no PROTOCOL(VTAM,...) or PROTOCOL(LU0,...) statement defined.

Solution:

If you are not using the VTAM protocol, you should ignore this message (CAS9612I). If you are planning on using the VTAM protocol, you should add the appropriate PROTOCOL statement to the CCIPARM member. Complete details on the CAICCI PROTOCOL control option can be found in Chapter 4 of the CA Common Services r11 Reference Guide.

syntax:

PROTOCOL(VTAM,netparm,retry,sysid,maxru,START/STOP)

defaults:

retry=10, maxru=4096, start/stop=START/SHUT.

example:

PROTOCOL(VTAM,A97CVC01,01,A97SYSID,4000,START/STOP)
