can not checkout code from Harvest

Issue:
Development team can not check out source code from their project.  Workbench hangs with the message "finding versions".  There are over 100000 files in the source tree. This only happens when checking out from one of the remote servers.  Local servers on the same network as the broker do not see this problem.  Checking out with the "hco" command line utility does not exhibit the same problem.
Environment:
CA Harvest SCM v12.6 and up
Windows client machines, 
Broker is SCM v13.0.3 on a Linux server
Cause:
When you fill out the Checkout window, if you put the desired folder’s parent path in the “From” field, and the desired folder in the list box below that, Harvest will first try to build a list of all the versions and then check out.
 
Instead, if you put the complete path to your desired folder in the “From” field, and leave the list box below empty, Harvest will bypass the step of building the list of versions and start the checkout.:
 
Resolution:
To have Harvest bypass the step where it builds a list of all the versions first, when using Workbench, put the complete path to your desired folder in the “From” field, and leave the list below empty:
