Introduction:

Dynamic views and alarm console still work with standalone.jsp as they did previously. However, for custom dashboards, there is no way to use the name for the dashboard in the URL, as done previously.

Question:

Can I still use the standalone.jsp for custom dashboards in UMP 7.6 and higher?

Environment:

CA UIM/UMP 7.6 or higher

Answer:

The only option is to use the dashboard resource id in the URL like below:

http://<ump_server>/dashboard/jsp/standalone.jsp?sid=6a394676523062684443626b63774a7a7758432f36613833397976776e4b427442317337566250524247383d&dUri=definition/06721613-25ec-44ed-9698-255137d9ab6c

The steps to get the URL is to click on the dashboard in the dashboard portlet and choose “Live View”.
That will give you the dashboard in another tab.

From there, in the URL, take off the “&mode=edit” and remove the "sid=" argument from the URL and it will give the dashboard. It will look like the following form:

http://<ump_server>/dashboard/jsp/standalone.jsp?dUri=definition/06721613-25ec-44ed-9698-255137d9ab6c

Additional Information:

There are a couple of reasons that we can’t use the name now. We have a new visibility model in dashboards which allows for non-unique names to be stored at various visibilities. As you can imagine that would make it challenging to know which dashboard the user really wants to open. Also, we would have to know which version to show, published or working copy depending on they type of user and who owns the dashboards. Thus, the resource id is the only solution.

The definition value is from the ID column in the umpdashboard table.
