Description:

Can EEM authenticate users via SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) protocol using Siteminder generated Artifacts?

Solution:

SAML Authentication is supported with EEM r12.x.

To configure EEM server with SAML, one would need to navigate to EEM Server->Artifact Authentication section in EEM Admin UI.  There you need to select Authenticate against internally generated artifacts and external SAML server.

Using SAML authentication, EEM r12.x cannot be used to authenticate Siteminder generated artifacts.  Only relation with Siteminder for this is that when you configure Oracle Coreid Federation Server, you can provide any Active Directory/RDBS/Siteminder.

With EEM r12.51, EEM can be configured for SAML authentication using Siteminder generated Artifacts.
