Once the OBS is linked to an entity, it cannot be deleted (In the "Administration" guide: "Note: Once an OBS is associated with a financial entity, you cannot delete the OBS.")
Additionally, the "Administration guide": "In order to work with financial management, you must set up at least one entity. You can define as many entities as desired. Once a transaction is processed for an entity, you cannot delete it. Each entity owns a unique set of locations and departments for which the entities are financially aware. To establish this financial boundary, entities must be associated with a geographical OBS for locations and an organizational OBS for departments."
However, you can add and/or modify locations and levels for a location OBS associated to an entity. In the Admin Tool, select 'Setup' from the 'Finance' menu. Then, in the 'Organizational Structure' section, click on 'Locations'. Afterwards, select the desire location or click on 'New' to create a new location. When you create a new location, if you select a 'Parent Location', a new level is created if it does not exist.
To add or modify Location OBS Units:
Administration, Financial Management : Setup, Locations
Likewise, you can add and/or modify departments and levels for a department OBS associated to an entity. In the Main application, select 'Departments' from the 'Organization' menu. Afterwards, select the desired department or click on 'New' to create a new department. When you create a new department, if you select a 'Parent Department', a new level is created if it does not exist.
To add or modify Department OBS Units:
Go to Home; Organization: Departments
An OBS Unit can be removed from the associated Department or Location, if all the associated investments are deleted.
To view the list of associated investments, navigate to Home, Departments, Investments tab.
If the investments are no longer needed, they can be deactivated, marked for deletion and permanently deleted using the 'Delete Investments' job.
