Problem:

We have CA7 XTM running and two LPARS involved called SYS-A and SYS-B. 

A job submits from CA-7 on SYS-A called JOB01. 

JOB01 is routed via NJE to SYS-B and runs successfully. 

That job triggers a job JOB02 that is also is submitted from CA-7 on SYS-A. 

JOB02 is routed via NJE to SYS-B. This job tries to use XTM to send back something to CA-7 on SYS-A. At this point job JOB02 gets this error;

I've looked in the CA-ENF and CA-CCI logs, and used CA-SYSVIEW to view the environment. The connection looks fine to me. On system SYS-B I've used CCITCPGW commands to display the nodes;

+CAS9899I SYSID CCISYSA ACTIVE , HAS LCL DEF, ACCEPTED NON-GTWY CONNECTION, RETRY(MINS)=60

 

This job started failing when we IPL'd SYS-A over the weekend. So it looks like the CCI connection between the two systems is active, what could be wrong?

 

Environment:

CA Common Services v14.0 or r14.1

CAICCI peer-to-peer connections utilizing CCITCPGW or CCISSLGW

 

Cause: 

A Receiver Not Found can occur if the CCI Receiver built by the associated CA application is no longer defined or is not defined by the name requested. The receiver may actually exist but cannot be found in the CCI environment. There are some console commands that can be utilized to help diagnose the problem.

 

Circumvention:

It is possible to resolve the immediate problem by recycling the CCITCPGW/CCISSLGW address space, or by recycling the specific connection using commands;

F CCITCPGW,DISC,sysid

F CCITCPGW,CONN,sysid

where sysid is the CCI SYSID of the remote system

 

Resolution:

Apply CCIMVS v14.0 PTFs RO77530 and RO82866

Apply CCIMVS r14.1 PTFs RO74389 and RO80854

After installing the recommended PTFs and any required prerequisites, deploy the updated CAW0PLD and CAW0LOAD data sets, refresh LLA if necessary, and then stop and restart the ENF address space.

 

Additional Information:

Here are some useful console commands that can be used to gather diagnostic information that can be provided to CA Support.

F ENF,CCI(STATUS,sysid)  - This display command will return CCI connection status and CCI receiver information for a specific connected CCI SYSID

F ENF,XNTRPT - This display command will return the CCI Extended Names Table report. Here we can look for any "missing" PATH

F CCITCPGW,SVCDUMP - This command will generate a standard SVCDUMP of the CCITCPGW address space. It is always a good idea to capture this dump to ensure the current environment is available in dump format in case CCI support needs it for further diagnosis. It is always best to issue this command on all systems that are involved in the problem.
