Description:

The CA Workload Automation DE stores various status messages in the database. They need to be cleared or purged periodically to keep the database in healthy state.

The CLI command DELETESTATUSMESSAGES easily allows the clearing of database.

Solution:

The DELETESTATUSMESSASGES command from CLI will clear messages stored in the DB from various operations.

             Usage: DELETESTATUSMESSAGES THRESHOLD("2014-06-29")

 Note: When used the first time, it is recommended to get the total number of records from ESP_STATUS_MESSAGE table. Use the following query to get the number of records that will be deleted:

             SELECT COUNT(*) FROM ESP_STATUS_MESSAGE where CREATED_DATE < TO_DATE('2014-06-29','YYYY-MM-DD');

 If the query results in very high (>2-3 million) number of rows, then THRESHOLD date should be adjusted accordingly.
