Following a SARDBASE MERGE, at each View backup on the new database, the message
*SARBKT52  ***Warning*** Run SARPAC to Copy Tapes Following Merge of Databases
" is received, until SARPAC has been run on the new database.

The reason, in this instance, for the message being received was because the tapes were less than the View global tape retention of a minimum of 5 days.
CA View - All Releases
The SARBKT52 message:
is generated because a new database (created via a SARDBASE MERGE) contains tape entries for tapes from another database.

As SARPAC is to follow a SARDBASE MERGE, and all reports would then be placed on new tapes, those tapes would belong only to the new database.

At the next View backup following the SARPAC, View will issue a command to MVS to expire the tapes that were input to SARPAC.

In this particular case:

. The tapes claimed in ownership (from another database), had been created only a few days earlier.
. The tapes had not yet met the minimum 5-day retention.

. The SARBKT52 message was generated due to the tapes in question being less than 5 days old.
. When a View backup ran, and the questionable tapes could expire due to meeting the 5 days, the SARBKT52 message stopped appearing.
