Question:

CA SymDump for CICS uses transaction IDs SYMD, SYME, SYMI, SYMS, and SYMT by default.  Sometimes this conflicts with applications already in use at the client site.  How can this conflict be resolved?

Answer:

In IN25OPTS, change the SYMDT entry to xxxD where xxx is a string other than SYM and then reassemble the IN25OPTS table.

Now, CA SymDump for CICS will use transaction IDs xxxD, xxxE, xxxI, xxxS, and xxxT.

You will then need to modify the supplied CSD entries to inform CICS about these new transactions, i.e. change SYMD, SYME, SYMI, SYMS, and SYMT to match accordingly.
