CA Spectrum shows a wrong networklinktype value

Document ID : KB000006240
Last Modified Date : 14/02/2018
Show Technical Document Details
Issue:

The NetworkLinkType for connections between two Switch-Routers or a Switch and a Switch-Router is incorrect and set to "End Station Link". Nothing but deletion of the connection will correct it.

Environment:
DSS ; Spectrum 10.1, 10.2
Cause:

If for any reason the NetworkLinkType attribute of a port model has been changed or not correctly updated, it is not possible to correct it, even if you try  "Reconfigure Model". The link has to be deleted and created again to correct the correct type for the link, as a workaround.

NetworkLinkType is described on the following page in the Spectrum Guide:

https://docops.ca.com/ca-spectrum/10-2/en/managing-network/modeling-and-managing-your-it-infrastructure/fault-management/configure-cross-landscape-fault-correlation#ConfigureCross-LandscapeFaultCorrelation-ConfiguringPortStatusMonitoring

Resolution:

This has been resolved in CA Spectrum 10.2 with debug patch Spectrum_10.02.00.D153, which will change the correct value back. Not only after installing the patch will this be corrected, but on every restart of the SpectroSever will this be checked and corrected if needed.

The release notes show the following:

SPECTRUM 10.02.00 aand 10.02.00_PTF_10.2.020 are the prerequisites for installation of this patch.
