ISSUE: CA Spectrum AutoDiscovery is not making some connections for Cisco ASR 9001 device models with sysObjectID


ROOT CAUSE: The Cisco ASR 9001 device with sysObjectID was officially supported in CA Spectrum using the Rtr_Cisco model type. Prior to CA Spectrum these devices will model using the GnSNMPDev model type. When modeled as GnSNMPDev, CA Spectrum only supports standard mib-2 and not the Cisco vendor specific mibs.


RESOLUTION: Use CA Spectrum Device Certification to configure CA Spectrum to use the Rtr_Cisco model type to manage these devices by doing the following:

1. Log into OneClick as an ADMIN user

2. Select Tools -> Utilities -> Device Certification from the top level menu

3. Filter for and select from the list

4. Click on the Edit icon

5. Click on the Browse button to the right of the Model Type Name field and select Rtr_Cisco model type and save the change.


After making the above change, you will then need to delete all of the current GnSNMPDev models with the above sysObjectID and then remodel from scratch. They should now model using the Rtr_Cisco model type and connections should model correctly.
