Description:

When the primary SpectroServer is down the secondary SpectroServer takes over. When the Primary SpectroServer is running, an alarm

"Alarm synchronization with Secondary failed" is created.

"ERROR TRACE at CsLscpe1.cc(1536): Fault Tolerant Alarm Service: primary SpectroSERVER's attempts to synchronize alarms with secondary SpectroSERVER timed out. Since alarms were not synchronized, it is highly recommended to perform an Online Database Backup as soon as possible."

Solution:

This is resolved in PTF_H1207 for Spectrum 9.2.3.H12 and in PTF_H0103 for Spectrum 9.3.0.H01. This is tentatively scheduled to be included in hotfix H02 for 9.3 (please check the release notes at the time of release).

The release notes show an entry similar to this:

Symptom: Alarm synchronization from secondary SpectroSERVER toprimary SpectroSERVER was failing during fall back to Primary SpectroSERVER in a fault tolerant environment if any of the alarms are in initial condition.

Resolution:Alarm synchronization from secondary SpectroSERVER to primary SpectroSERVER will not fail during fall back to Primary SpectroSERVER in a fault tolerant environment if any of the alarms are in initial condition.
