Issue:

After installing CA Spectrum 10.2.1, false alarms are generating and clearing on pingable, UIM hosts and Access Point models.  When the model is polled, a successful response is received.  When reviewing the events, you will notice that the alarm may be generated and cleared within the specified timeouts (DCM retry and DCM timeout).  Here is an example:

"Critical","Apr 9, 2017 5:32:18 AM EDT","arcade1","Device arcade1 of type UIMHostServer has stopped responding to polls and/or external requests.  An alarm will be generated.","System","Apr 9, 2017 5:32:20 AM EDT","System","0x10d35"

Critical","Apr 10, 2017 1:03:04 PM EDT","arcade25","Device arcade25 of type AccessPoint has stopped responding to polls and/or external requests.  An alarm will be generated.","System","Apr 10, 2017 1:03:04 PM EDT ","System","0x10d35"
Cause:

There was a code flaw in the way Spectrum was handling Pingable model communication in 10.2.1.

Resolution:

This is resolved in patch 10.02.01.PTF_10.2.103  for CA Spectrum 10.2.1.  This is tentatively scheduled to be fixed in Spectrum 10.3 due out at the end of the 2017 calendar year.

The release notes show the following:

This is a Program Temporary Fix (PTF) patch for the following issue:

Symptom: False Contact lost alarms asserted on pingable models that are actually reachable.

Resolution: Faulty behavior with pingable models is corrected and false contact lost alarms are not generated.
