CA Spectrum 10.0 container roll up condition is not updating so all containers are green in the explorer view.

Issue:

When containers have devices in them that alarm, the container roll up (upside down triangle) shows on the container in the topology view. That status should be reflected in the OneClick Explorer view by the container changing to the color of the upside down triangle. This happens correctly in 9.4.2.1 but does not happen in 10.0.

Cause:

There is a typographical error in the $SPECROOT/tomcat/webapps/spectrum/WEB-INF/devman/config/devman-app-config.xml.

Solution:

You can manually fix this by editing $SPECROOT/tomcat/webapps/spectrum/WEB-INF/devman/config/devman-app-config.xml, and find this block:

  <contents-registry>

    <icon-reg-id>container-icon-config</icon-reg-id>

    <model-type>0x002101e8</model-type>

    <!-- vPCDomainContainer -->

  </contents-registry>

  <theme-config>

    <theme>OneClick</theme>

    <icon-reg-id>container-icon-config</icon-reg-id>

    <on-page idref="oneclick-container-iconbase-config" />

    <off-page idref="oneclick-container-oprbase-config" />

    <enumerated-cellicon idref="vpcdomain-cellicon-config" />

  </theme-config>

These files are for VPC Manager, but are not referencing the VPC files.  You need to update the xml file references and add "vpc-" to the file name:

<contents-registry>

    <icon-reg-id>vpc-container-icon-config</icon-reg-id>

    <model-type>0x002101e8</model-type>

    <!-- vPCDomainContainer -->

  </contents-registry>

  <theme-config>

    <theme>OneClick</theme>

    <icon-reg-id>vpc-container-icon-config</icon-reg-id>

    <on-page idref="oneclick-container-iconbase-config" />

    <off-page idref="oneclick-container-oprbase-config" />

    <enumerated-cellicon idref="vpcdomain-cellicon-config" />

  </theme-config>

The highlighted “vpc-“ entries are missing and need to be added.  This typo was changing the behavior for all container models, not just the vpc containers as desired.

Once you make this change, restarting just the OneClick clients is needed to resolve the issue.

This fix is also included in PTF patch PTF_10.0.001 (can request from CA Support) and in the 10.1 version of Spectrum once released.
