Introduction:

Consider the following scenario:

CA Service Desk Manager (CA SDM) authenticates via EEM (Embedded Entitlement Manager), and EEM is configured to access LDAP (or multiple LDAPs).

Such type of authentication requires users to manually provide a username and password to login to CA SDM. It is not unusual to have customers requesting a way to enable Single Sign-On (SSO) with CA SDM authenticating via EEM in the scenario described.

The purpose of this document is to respond whether or not it is possible to have CA EEM authenticating via EEM with SSO.

Question:

Is it possible to have SDM uses authenticating via SSO when SDM is configured to validate the authentication via EEM?

Environment:

This applies to SDM 12.x and 14.1.

Answer:

When using this type of authentication, it is not possible to have SSO configured for CA SDM.

It would be necessary to have CA SDM authenticating via CA Siteminder, IIS authentication or something else for SSO.
