Description:

The IBM dynamic exits function of JES2 is integrated in z/OS V1R10 and is available in previous releases of z/OS by the application of an IBM APAR OA21346, or may be included in the current maintenance level of z/OS 1.8 and 1.9.

The assembly of ROSGBL fails after the application of IBM apar OA21346, or upgrade to z/OS 1.10, due to changes in IBM JES2 control block structure. Assembly of ROJES2XT and ROSGBL results in RC=08

 ASMA044E Undefined symbol - XIT#RTNS

Another possible error message is:

 ROS150W: JES2 EXIT5 ROUTINE NOT FOUND: UNABLE TO CREATE NEW JOES IN ATTACH JOB

Solution:

CA Roscoe supports this new feature with Roscoe 6.0 SP9 and RO00469.

After applying this solution and any required pre-requisites, you must reassemble ROSGBL. The CA Roscoe message, ROS148I, should reflect the new MACRO DATE of 05/01/08 or later.

JES2 Customers must reassemble and reinstall the ROJES2XT (JES EXIT5) if they want to redirect their output data sets to alternate classes or destinations.
