Introduction:

How can notifications be removed or deleted?

The PPM UI currently does not allow removal of old action item notifications, the tables that hold information on notifications tables can grow large. 



Instructions:

1. Backup the following tables:

create table CLB_NOTIFICATIONS_BACKUP as select * from CLB_NOTIFICATIONS

Confirm that both backup and live table have same number of records

select count(*) from CLB_NOTIFICATIONS

select count(*) from CLB_NOTIFICATIONS_BACKUP

2. Execute query and export results in .XLS file

select *  FROM CLB_NOTIFICATIONS CN
WHERE CN.CREATED_DATE < 'DATE' --Example '19-JUL-14'

3. Review results. Run query:

delete FROM CLB_NOTIFICATIONS
WHERE CREATED_DATE < 'DATE' --Example '19-JUL-14';
commit;

4. Remove the backup table:
DROP TABLE CLB_NOTIFICATIONS_BACKUP
