Problem:

CA Patch Manager Patches won't download patches. The Patch end up in Status as 'Packaging' and files status remains "Unavailable".

Environment:

CA Patch Manager - All Version

CA Client Automation - All Versions

Resolution:

 1.  Check the User Name and Password:

In Patch Manager Under Administration -> DSM or  Manager ( Depending on the version of ITCM\UPM )

This is the User Name and Password that connects UPM to DSM Explorer

      a.  Check the User Name and Password are Correct.

      b. Make sure this user belongs to the LOCAL administrators group on the box.

Because this User ID require Local Admin privileges  to connect to DSM and to create SD Packages.

2.  Change Patch Status back to "Pending user Acceptance"  by using SQL Queries:

For All Versions prior to R14:

   use mdb
    UPDATE ca_install_package SET status=3 WHERE status = 5

     -   Status 3 is for Pending User Acceptance

     -  Status 5 is for Accept

3. From command prompt , run the following:

CAF STOP TOMCAT

IISRESET

CAF START TOMCAT

4. Accept the Patch again.
